Vem har rätten att ta plats i det offentliga rummet?
I stadsrummet möter vi en färdig arkitektur, prydliga reklampelare står här och var uppställda där de starka ekonomiska krafterna med kommersiellt syfte får utrymme. Men om man ser sig om upptäcker man snart andra bilder och texter än de kommersiella. Dessa bilder och texter visar en vilja att erövra det offentliga rummet och ta en plats. De visar på ett behov av att få göra sin röst hörd. Som svamparnas mycel breder sig denna aktivistiska rörelse ut sig underground i en folktradition lika gammal som hällkonst, men som i dag framförallt beskrivs som en ungdomskultur. De säger: jag finns och det jag har att säga har betydelse!
Fotografierna är en dokumentation av meddelanden eller snarare insamling av citat från det offentliga rummet. De är i huvudsak tagna i Umeå men även andra städer som jag besöker.

Who has the right to claim a place in the public space?
In urban space we meet a finished architecture, neat commercial pillars are placed here and there, where strong economic powers with commercial intention are given room. But if you look around, you will soon discover other images and texts beside the commercial ones. These images and texts show a will to conquer public space and claim space. They show a need to make one’s voice heard. As the mycelium of fungus this activist movement spreads underground in a folk tradition as old as rock art, but that today is primarily described as a youth subculture. It is saying: I exist and what I have to say matters!
The photographs are a documentation of messages or even more a collection of quotations from the public space. Thay are mainly from Umeå but also from other cities I visit.
